The date was 1.03.1938. The place-Taegu, Korea. Byung-Chull, (who later became the founding Chairman of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd) started exporting dried fish, vegetables and fruit to Manchuria and Beijing. Samsung did not allow the wind to go out of its sail and quickly launched the clamshell A100. It is a winner, even today. The next upgraded clamshell mobile version was the A300. It had a dual screen. Mobiles with twin display were not innovative. However, even other cellular phone companies would acknowledge the part played by Samsung in popularizing it. With the A300 phone, the world simply sat up. A mobile with a mono display has not been enough, since then.

Samsung cell phones did not stop experiencing with the clamshell variety. The model T100 came with a color internal display. The phone amazingly has not come to stretching its shelf life even though other models have appeared. It still sells.

Samsung cell phones is perhaps the only cellular phone company to have devised the niche phone. A niche phone is one aimed at a distinctive target group. The model A400 was meant for women. It caught on like a house on fire. T500 became its successor. T700 is said to be the future.

In general, Samsung cell phones are coming up with a handful of exciting future models. The MMS enabled P500 is one such. Its integrated VGA camera is a small wonder. The phone’s inexhaustible framing options and many effects to touch your picture which is guaranteed to leave you in a dilemma-to shoot or to talk. The price is going to be a steal. The model P100 is meant for the entry segment. The camera of this mobile has a lesser number of settings. E700 is the third of this triplet. It has all the functions of P500 and comes with an internal antenna. Samsung sees E700 has a fashion phone.

Samsung cell phones are synonymous with flip phones. However, it is always on the lookout for introducing something new. Cellular phone with a built in camcorder is the next on its agenda.
